I have not posted an update for more than two weeks. Partly, that’s because I’ve just burnt out on my whole “self-assigned-covid-19-watchtower” role. Dummies gonna dummy. What can I really do about it?

As far as my feelings of care toward my own friends, several have told me that my updates have been helpful to their being able to make sense of what is going on, at least for themselves and their immediate family, so that is reward enough.

Another reason for my dropping off the radar, though, has been that the trough in the growth rates that I had been writing about so continually for such a long time, has lasted just about the exact right length of time, and it just doesn’t make for very interesting reading to update each day with a statement like, “well, things are pretty much the same as they were yesterday, and I’m not sure when they’re going to turn, but I’ll sure let you know when they do,” just doesn’t make me want to jump out of bed every morning.

Well, things are starting to change.

The trough has bottomed out. If you have been reading this blog, you know what this means. If you haven’t, I recommend you go back through the archives and read some of the entries in order to understand. It’s too late in the evening and I’m too tired to write a full-blown update. The point, however, is clear: the prediction I have been making for months is now realized.
